Why do you specialise in Wedding Entertainment?

Good Afternoon, I'm Stephen Davies, proprietor of Oxfordshire Wedding Entertainment.

An experienced mobile DJ of many years, I specialise in delivering bespoke disco entertainment for Wedding and Civil Partnership receptions.

I love the whole atmosphere of weddings! I consider it an honour and a privilege to work with you on this wonderful day. I really enjoy helping to create the right atmosphere for you and your guests.

It's all about you - you are the "stars" of the show and I'm there to make sure that's the case. I perform at, on average, 25 to 30 weddings each year. Some are full days, others are simply the evening reception.

We love your website, but what sets you apart from other DJs?

Lots of things! For a start, I'm not a "turn up and press play" kind of DJ. There's so much more that goes on before the big day.

I like to meet with you both first so we can get to know each other a little to ensure we're a good match. I want to share your vision for your wedding day and then make it even more special for you and your guests.

For your peace of mind, you'll have met me and you'll know what I'm like. More importantly, I'll know a bit more about you, your tastes, what you want to achieve and so we can work together to achieve it.

Attention to detail - it can be the little things that make a big difference. For example, using your names in the introduction to the first dance. It's all about getting things right the first time. With a wedding, there isn't a second chance.

This all sounds wonderful, but may be too expensive. Can we afford this?

Weddings are expensive! Bear in mind the time and money you have already invested in your reception and then consider the impact that the DJ has on how everything turns out.

If you've chosen a lovely venue, with good food, your family and best friends in attendance, why risk spoiling it by booking a DJ based on price alone? How will you feel if your guests leave early because they are not enjoying your reception?

Who do you think you work best with?

Couples who understand the importance of value over price and who are willing to put time into working with me to plan the perfect evening.

Couples who recognise that it's best to put the enjoyment for a large part of the day into the hands of a professional.

Do you have testimonials from previous brides?

Yes, lots. We ask former clients to write a totally unbiased review and post it on the third party website Guides for Brides for all to see. We cannot edit or amend these reviews.

Do you take credit cards?

I do, via the PayPal service. I can also accept payment via BACS (free bank transfer) or cheque.

My venue has asked for proof of PLI and PAT - what are these?

Public Liability Insurance (PLI) covers third parties in the event of an accident or damage claim attributable to my conduct or equipment.

Portable Appliance Tests (PAT) are routine inspections and safety testing of electrical equipment to ensure it's safe for use in a public environment.

I will supply copies of documentation directly to your venue in advance and will copy you so that you can be sure it's been done.

Will you be the DJ on the day?

I will. It'll also be me you meet with at the consultations and me who deals with any queries.

What do you do for a living?

I'm a full time, professional DJ. This allows me to offer an exceptional level of service and time to devote to your big day.

Are you a member of any trade organisations?

I am a member of the Wedding DJ Alliance, an organisation set up to promote high standards where all members sign up to an agreement for their professionalism and ethics.

I am also a platinum DJmark award holder (their highest award). This is further independent verification of excellence in customer service and conformity to industry standards.

Can we choose the music?

Of course you can! I'm only too pleased to consult with you on a play list and to help involve your guests as much as possible in your big day.

We don't want to spoil the look of our venue and turn it into a nightclub!

I use a discrete, neat and tidy booth that can be fitted with a variety of frontage cloths to blend into your function room.

I use a small yet powerful Bose sound system that is simply stunning in its looks and sound quality. I also provide a selection of high quality lighting to suit the styles of music we'll be playing.

Yes - in fact I encourage all clients to schedule a complimentary consultation to go through all your questions and concerns and ensure we are a good fit for one another. Simply get in touch with me to schedule your "get acquainted" consultation without obligation. I'll answer all your questions and share with you my ideas and experiences to help you determine exactly what you want from me.

Then, following the meeting, if you'd like to book me then I'll issue you with a full booking pack. A 25% deposit will secure my services. Once received I'll be under contract to you and you can move on with your planning!

Once you've booked I'll still be available via email, phone or video chat to finalise details right up to the big day!
